George Orton brings a wealth of knowledge from his background in defendant insurance, providing him with invaluable insights into claims management and tactical strategies. His work in travel law has provided him with an understanding of disputes spanning multiple jurisdictions.

Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, George worked as a cost draftsman, where he developed a strong ability to balance clients' interests with the financial considerations of litigation.

Specialist areas:

  • Business and commercial - a broad range of litigation issues, with a particular focus on property dispute resolution.
  • Accidents abroad (to include cruise claims).

George qualified under the inaugural sitting of the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations, achieving top-percentile scores in both exams. He joined Boys & Maughan in December 2024.

George is deeply familiar with the local area, having grown up here and attended Chatham House Grammar School. After gaining valuable experience working in London for several years, he has recently returned to the region.

Outside of his professional work, George is an avid sports enthusiast. In April 2025, he will be running his first full marathon, with future ambitions to complete the iconic "London Classics" challenge, including the London Marathon, Prudential RideLondon, and Swim Serpentine. George is also a PADI Advanced Open Water Scuba diver and enjoys using his skills while travelling.
