Skier Hit from Behind by Another Skier Seeks Damages

A woman who was injured in a collision while skiing has commenced a claim for damages.

The woman, who had never previously had an accident in more than 50 years of skiing, was on holiday in Austria when the accident happened. A skier behind her came too close and ran over the back of her skis. She felt a pain in her back and lost consciousness.

The accident left her with fractured ribs and a torn rotator cuff. She spent over a week in hospital in Austria and was then taken back to the UK in an ambulance. She was in pain for some time after the accident and was unable to work. She is slowly recovering with the aid of physiotherapy.

After speaking with family and friends, she sought legal advice. A claim has now been brought against the other skier's insurer.
